Sheffield Wednesday have made a bid for Brentford's highly-rated midfielder Alan Judge, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Judge is regarded as one of the best players in the Championship after impressing at Brentford over the last 18 months.
The 27-year-old has been Brentford's outstanding performer this season, with ten goals and eight assists so far this term and he was named the Championship Player of the Month for October.
Judge is in the final 18 months of his contract at Brentford and the club had been hoping to tie him down to a new long-term deal as reward for his form.
Judge's impressive displays have not gone unnoticed with clubs in the Premier League and Championship keeping tabs on his progress.
However, Sheffield Wednesday are hoping to steal a march on their rivals by firming up their interest in the skilful midfielder with a bid.
Brentford are reluctant to lose Judge, but Sheffield Wednesday are the first of the Irishman's suitors to test their resolve to keep hold of him.
