Tottenham Hotspur great Ossie Ardiles says that the improvements Dele Alli has made since moving to White Hart Lane are frightening.
Alli moved to Spurs in the summer from Milton Keynes Dons, and few expected him to become such a prominent player so quickly.
The 19-year-old is already playing a vital role for Mauricio Pochettino’s side, and he scored a brilliant goal in Tottenham’s 1-1 draw with Everton at the weekend.
The youngster took the ball on his chest, before lashing it beyond Tim Howard in the Toffees’ goal to net for the fifth time in the Premier League this season.
The strike only further went to increase his reputation and Ardiles believes that Alli should start for England at Euro 2016.
Should @Dele_Alli start for England at Euro 2016? Without a shadow of a doubt. It is frightening how better and better He is becoming…— osvaldo ardiles (@osvaldooardiles) January 4, 2016
I believe as well that England should go to Euro 16 not only with @Dele_Alli but with a lot of young players: Dyer, Walker, Kane…— osvaldo ardiles (@osvaldooardiles) January 4, 2016
Alli’s performances have already seen him rewarded with two England caps, but his whirlwind rise is showing no signs of stopping.
Pochettino has utilised Alli as a shield in front of Tottenham's defence, and as a number 10 - and in both roles the starlet his thrived.
Alli’s exceptional form has been a major reason behind the Lilywhites’ excellent start to the season, which has seen them climb into fourth place in the Premier League table.
