Muhamed Besic has told Everton’s official website that he is ready to help the side climb the Premier League table this season.
Besic made just his third Premier League appearance of the season for the Toffees in their 1-1 draw against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday and he impressed.
Although he was only given a 30-minute substitute appearance by manager Roberto Martinez, Besic’s display still caught the eye - and he won the fans’ Man of the Match award on social media site Twitter.
The Bosnia and Herzegovina international was combative and energetic in midfield and he is determined to push on after showing his quality.
“I am ready, so when the gaffer needs me I will be there,” Besic said. “But what’s important is the result - it’s not just important to play.
“It was my second game after a long time. I really enjoyed it and I felt good on the pitch.”
Besic helped turn the game in Everton’s favour when he came on to the field with the score locked at 1-1.
Although he was not able to help his side pick up the three points, he did give them a much greater attacking impetus in the match.
Everton had been on the back foot for much of the contest, but Besic’s arrival, which came at the same time as Gerard Deulofeu’s, improved their performance considerably.
Everton’s latest draw leaves them sitting in 11th place in the Premier League standings.
