Mauricio Pochettino comments on Tottenham's January transfer plans after Everton draw

Tottenham Hotspur are currently in fourth place in the Premier League table, after making a bright start to the season.

Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed to Sky Sports that Tottenham Hotspur are open to signing players in the January transfer window.

Although the Argentine boss insists that he is content with the options he has at White Hart Lane, he is keen to add to the group - should the right player become available.

Tottenham are in fourth place in the Premier League table but Pochettino is open to bolstering his choices further.

“We have a very strong squad,” he said.

“In football you can always improve, but we are happy. The first half of the season was fantastic, we are fourth so we don’t need to moan.

“But in football things are always open so if you find the right player with the right profile, and this player can improve us, why not?”

Tottenham have been linked with a host of players, with the side thought to be chasing a striker.

West Bromwich Albion’s Saido Berahino and Marseille’s Michy Batshuayi have been tipped to be Spurs’ top targets in January by the Daily Mail.

Harry Kane is currently Tottenham’s only option up front, meaning that signing a new forward could be vital for their hopes of finishing in the top four and potentially challenging for the title.

Pochettino will not want to break up the team spirit he has created at White Hart Lane, though.

Spurs have only lost twice all season, and they are in a strong position to claim a Champions League qualification spot at the very least.
