Jonny Williams was recalled from his loan spell at Nottingham Forest by Crystal Palace.

Jonny Williams has told Crystal Palace’s official site that Alan Pardew has stressed how important he can be to the side.

Palace recalled Williams from a loan spell with Nottingham Forest, following a series of injuries to their attacking players.

The likes of Yannick Bolasie, Bakary Sako and Dwight Gayle are currently all on the sidelines.

It means that Williams could be handed an opportunity, and the attacking midfielder is keen to take his chance.

"The manager told me we have a lot of injuries and wished me luck over the next month," he said. "We'll see what happens. If I get an opportunity hopefully I can do well and impress him and stay involved.”

Williams came off the bench for Palace during their match against Chelsea yesterday - making his first appearance for the Eagles since 2014.

The Welsh international was given a huge ovation when he entered the field of play, but he was unable to stop Palace falling to a defeat.

Although Williams showed flashes of quality, Palace were already 3-0 down by the time he came on and he could do little to affect the result.

Palace’s defeat against Chelsea has seen them slip down to seventh in the Premier League table, while Guus Hiddink’s side have moved up to 14th.
