Tottenham Hotspur drew 1-1 with Everton at Goodison Park yesterday.
Carroll started alongside Eric Dier in the heart of Spurs’ midfield, and his passing ability and energy were very noticeable.
The diminutive midfielder put in a very credible performance, as Tottenham picked up a 1-1 draw at Goodison Park. And Carragher said: "He was outstanding today, he basically ran the game for Spurs."
Carroll’s future at Tottenham appeared in doubt before the season started, as he had been loaned out to Swansea City last term.
However, the 23-year-old has enjoyed a wonderful spell of form recently - and seems to have forced his way into the starting line-up.
With Mousa Demeble out injured, Carroll appears to be Mauricio Pochettino’s first choice to replace the Belgian.
Carroll has now made 15 appearances for Spurs this season, and he is set to receive further action in the coming weeks.
Tottenham scored their goal against Everton through Dele Alli, after Aaron Lennon had put the hosts in front.
The draw has helped the Lilywhites retain their position in the top four.
