Everton fans are demanding that Muhamed Besic starts against Manchester City on Wednesday.

Everton recorded their ninth draw from 20 Premier League games after a 1-1 result against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday evening.

The Toffees have won just one of their last seven games now, with the pressure beginning to mount on manager Roberto Martinez, though this performance was much better than some recent outings.

Winger Aaron Lennon - signed from Tottenham over the summer - came back to haunt his former club by smashing home a superb opening goal, though Spurs hit back as Dele Alli volleyed home Toby Alderweireld's raking long pass over the top.

Both teams had their chances to win the game, but it ended in a 1-1 draw as Everton now turn their attention to the first leg of their Capital One Cup semi-final against Manchester City on Wednesday.

One player that will be hoping to play in that game is midfielder Muhamed Besic, who came on as a substitute Arouna Kone after an hour against Tottenham.

The physical Bosnian made a real impact, offering energy and aggression to the Everton midfield - and Toffees fans were certainly impressed with his display.

Fans took to Twitter after the game in order to urge manager Martinez to pick Besic from the start against City, sending the Spaniard a clear message that they want to see more of the 23-year-old after his cameo against Spurs.

Here are some of the reactions from Everton fans after Besic's substitute appearance against Tottenham on Sunday...
