Should West Ham United make signings in the January transfer window?
Former Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy said on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on Monday morning (January 4) that West Ham United need not make any signings in the January transfer window.
“I don’t think West Ham particularly need anybody if I am honest,” said Murphy when asked if the London outfit need to make signings this month. “They had a a bit of bad luck with injuries. Lots of firepower. Plenty of players.”
West Ham have a good and strong squad, and there is really no need for them to sign any players this month.
With injured players such Dimitri Payet and Alex Song returning to full fitness, manager Slaven Bilic does not need to spend in the transfer market in January.
The current squad is good enough to challenge for a top-six finish in the Premier League this season.
If the Hammers want to aim higher and perhaps push for the top four, then maybe they could recruit someone.
However, will the new player enhance the quality of the current squad? Will he walk into the starting lineup?
It would be best for West Ham if they continue with the current squad for the rest of the season.
