Derby County have been linked with Boston United’s Henrich Ravas.

Boston United manager Dennis Greene has told reporters for the Boston Standard that goalkeeper Henrich Ravas has signed a two-and-a-half year deal with Derby County.

The 18-year-old is currently playing at Boston under a non-contract term and was on the bench for the Pilgrims latest 4-1 victory over Lowestoft Town.

Born in Slovakia and previously plying his trade at Peterborough, Ravas has a promising future ahead of him and Derby have opted to take him on a full-time basis according to Boston’s manager.

“He’s signed a contract with them for two-and-a-half years,” explained manager Dennis Greene. His contract will be put in place on January 4.”

“They could have put it in place sooner but they’ve kindly not put it in so he could play for us over the Christmas period.”

Derby entered 2016 boasting an impressive eight-game unbeaten run but a 2-0 defeat at league leaders Middlesbrough has put a dampener on what was a very good festive period for the Rams.

Paul Clement’s men currently occupy second place in the Championship and look well set for a long-awaited return to the Premier League, providing they maintain their good form.

With Scott Carson out injured, back-up Lee Grant has taken over the number one duties of late and that has left the club slightly short on goalkeepers in the development squad.

Ravas is clearly a figure the club will place in their youth teams and they will be hopeful the youngster progresses well and challenges for a first-team spot in the coming years.
