According to a report in the Mirror, the Spain international is said to be itching for a move to City after falling out of favour at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The former Malaga man is one of the best attacking midfielders in Spain, yet thus far he has often found himself behind Gareth Bale, Cristiano Ronaldo and James Rodriguez in the pecking order.
The report in the Mirror states that the player’s representatives have sounded out a potential loan move to the Etihad ahead of a permanent £25 million switch in the summer.
Balague, however, feels there is little chance of the player exiting the Spanish capital in January.
On Isco. No chance whatsoever of Real Madrid selling Isco in January. Even despite having played 12 minutes in the last 5 games. Zero— Guillem Balague (@GuillemBalague) enero 3, 2016
Isco, despite featuring for just 12 minutes in the last five matches, is still a fans favourite at the Santiago Bernabeu and his brilliance on and off the ball is undeniable.
Should an unlikely deal be completed, City would be getting a real player on their hands and for the price cited in recent reports a bargain of quite huge proportions.
The 23-year-old is already one of La Liga’s most prized assets and considering his young age there is still so much more to come from him in the coming years.
