Rob Elliot reacts on Twitter to Arsenal defeat, Newcastle fans respond

Newcastle United went down 1-0 to Arsenal in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Newcastle United goalkeeper Rob Elliot has taken to social networking site Twitter to express his disappointment at his side’s failure to win against Arsenal away from home on Saturday afternoon.

The Magpies suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in North London.

Laurent Koscielny’s goal in the 72nd minute proved to be the difference between the two sides in the Premier League encounter.

Over the course of the 90 minutes at the Emirates Stadium, visitors Newcastle had 49% of the possession, took 15 shots of which just six were on target, and earned four corners.

Hosts Arsenal had 51% of the possession, took 16 shots of which only three were on target, and earned seven corners.

The Magpies are third from bottom in the Premier League table at the moment with 17 points from 20 matches, just two points behind 17th-placed Swansea City.

Elliot has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to the loss, with Newcastle fans responding to his message on the social networking site.
