Marseille striker Michy Batshuayi, heavily linked with Premier League move, tweets West Ham United comeback kid Dimitri Payet

The pair are former team-mates at the Stade Velodrome.

Dimitri Payet was back in action for West Ham yesterday, as The Hammers picked up an impressive 2-0 win against Liverpool at Upton Park.

The attacking midfielder has been a revelation for West Ham this season since arriving from Marseille.

He had been out of action ever since a cynical challenge from James McCarthy put him out of the picture back in November.

Payet's return to action today was a month in advance for West Ham and it certainly had the fans pleased.

They weren't alone.

One striker who has been heavily linked with a Premier League move is Michy Batshuayi - a former team-mate of Payet's at Marseille.

He sent this tweet earlier today, saying how happy he was to see the Frenchman back in action for West Ham:

The Hammers are in fact one of the teams not currently linked with the Belgian striker - although they probably should be.

Yesterday morning it was reported by The Sun that Newcastle United were keen on signing the player - who is valued at £15 million.

Tottenham Hotspur have also been showing an interest in the player, as reported by The Times.

Sunderland and Crystal Palace have also been linked with the striker.

He has been in good form this season, scoring 14 goals in 25 games for the Ligue 1 giants and putting himself firmly in contention to play for Belgium at the European Championships in France next summer.
