The Aston Villa forward took to social media on Sunday afternoon, much to the delight of supporters.
Sometimes, not being at the heart of the action can be a blessing.
You can argue that's what Libor Kozak is going through right now. Not being played by Aston Villa, the 26-year-old forward has received plenty of sympathy from the club's fans.
They're worried he'll be allowed to leave Villa in January without being given a fair chance.
During the 3-1 defeat to Sunderland, Kozak was an unused substitute. But he still acknowledged fans on Twitter on Sunday afternoon, the only Villa player alongside Micah Richards to tweet in defeat.
And the forward thanked the 'amazing' supporters, something the Villa side didn't do at the full-time whistle on Saturday.
villa fans were amazing to me yesterday at the stadium! thank you— Libor Kozák (@Libor_Kozak) January 3, 2016
The fans, meanwhile, want the 26-year-old to start for Villa. Kozak's one tweet shows more passion than many of those actually on the pitch, according to the supporters.
There seems to be a genuine bond between the forward and Aston Villa fans but is it one Remi Garde will take advantage of?
Here's a selection of the responses from the Villa support, who were pleased with Kozak's one simple gesture after the Sunderland match. It seems they just want acknowledgement and some fight from their players:
@Libor_Kozak You'd showed more passion warming up on the touch line then the players have all season on the pitch— Harry Johnson (@avfc_johnson) January 3, 2016
@Libor_Kozak you're the only one we care for right now libor— Will Partridge (@WxllyP) January 3, 2016
@Libor_Kozak at least someone noticed and appreciated the fans— Leighton (@leighton_barry) January 3, 2016
