The Toffees will take on Tottenham at Goodison Park, and Barnes believes that the match will finish 2-2.
“Everton’s defence has let them down of late, but they’re playing well,” the former Celtic manager has written on Titanbet.co.uk.
“Spurs are a good attacking side, so I can see goals, but ultimately a draw. Goalscorers – Romelu Lukaku and Harry Kane.”
Former Chelsea and Manchester United midfielder Ray Wilkins said on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Friday morning (January 1): “I don’t see them (Tottenham) winning the game. I think Everton will score against them, but I see a draw.”
Playing at home will give Everton an advantage, and the Merseyside outfit do have attacking firepower to create problems for Tottenham.
However, Roberto Martinez’s side have looked defensively vulnerable this season, and it is likely that they will concede at least once.
Spurs are in great form at the moment and are in the running for the Premier League title. Star striker Harry Kane is currentky in superb form, and it will be interesting to see how the Everton defence copes with him.
This should be a high-scoring affair, and one should not be surprise if there is a late goal.
Tottenham are unbeaten in their last six meetings with Everton, while the Toffees have failed to score in four of their last five games against the North London outfit.
