Ian Taylor reacts on Twitter to Aston Villa defeat, Michael Owen comments on demise

Aston Villa went down 3-1 to Sunderland away from home in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Former Newcastle United striker Michael Owen has admitted his shock on Sportlobster.com at Aston Villa’s current situation.

Villa are one of the biggest clubs of England, but they are in real danger of getting relegated from the Premier League at the end of the season.

Remi Garde’s side are at the foot of the league table at the moment, having managed to collect just eight points from 20 matches so far this campaign.

The Villans have been flirting with relegation for the past four seasons, and it looks like their time in the top flight of English football is finally up.

Owen, who has played for Liverpool and Manchester United among other clubs, has given his take on the situation on Sportlobster.com.

“Shocking that a club of Villa's size has been in free fall for so long culminating in a slow and painful demise,” the former England international strike has written on Sportlobster.com.

Meanwhile, Ian Taylor was unimpressed with Villa’s result against Sunderland in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

The Villans suffered a 3-1 defeat to fellow relegation candidates Sunderland away from home at the Stadium of Light.

Former Villa midfielder Taylor was following the match, and he was not impressed with the way Jermain Defoe scored his first goal.
