Florian Thauvin reacts on Twitter to Newcastle loss, makes promise to fans

The 22-year-old Newcastle forward took to social media with a determined outlook.

Florian Thauvin has promised Newcastle United fans the team will not give up after their 1-0 defeat to Arsenal on Saturday afternoon.

The Frenchman feels Newcastle's loss is 'difficult' to accept and has thanked supporters for making the trip to London.

Thauvin came on in the second half against the Gunners.

On this occasion, there appears to be a lot less criticism aimed at the Newcastle United squad. Against top teams, they always seem to turn up - so there wasn't the level of mediocrity they have often shown this season.

And the level of Newcastle's performance against Arsenal was better than anyone could have hoped for. It was simply a case of taking their chances - but that's nothing new for the Magpies.

Will the club strengthen in the final third in January? Not signing a clinical finisher - as they did in summer - could cost them their Premier League status.

With displays like the one against Arsenal, though, there is certainly hope Newcastle can get the job done in terms of staying up. But they need to deliver every week, finishing off some of those chances while they're at it...
