Everton and Tottenham drew at Goodison.
Everton and Tottenham Hotspur played out a 1-1 draw at Goodison Park, with neither side doing enough to earn the three points.
The away side levelled it just before half time thanks to a strike from wonderkid Dele Alli, his fifth this season for the club.
Former Manchester City midfielder Joey Barton, now of Burnley, took to Twitter to give his verdict on what was an entertaining game, describing the draw as a fair result.
EFC much better in the 2nd period. Draw a fair result. Decent game that.— Joseph Barton (@Joey7Barton) January 3, 2016
Going away to Everton is always a tough fixture, and Tottenham will have to be satisfied with a point despite being favoured heading into the game.
Everton had lost their last two home games to Leicester City and Stoke City, and this at least for them ends that losing streak, and eases pressure on boss Roberto Martinez.
Tottenham are fourth in the Premier League table, edging three points clear of Manchester United, while Everton remain in 11th position.
