Leeds United are aiming to finish in the Championship playoffs this season.

Eddie Gray has told LUTV that Leeds United need to sign players in the January transfer window who can go straight into the starting lineup.

Leeds are in with a chance of finishing in the top six of the Championship this season and could recruit players in order to make that happen.

Gray, who played for the West Yorkshire outfit his entire career, believes that the Whites should not sign players who are not going to play much during the second half of the season.

“If someone is going to come in, they have to to come in to play, not to be a squad players,” the former Scotland international winger told LUTV, as reported by Insidefutbol. “It’s just about having the quality to challenge the top sides.”

Leeds are 13th in the Championship table at the moment with 32 points from 25 matches. Steve Evans’s side are nine points behind Ipswich Town, who are currently sixth and occupy the final playoff spot.

The likes of Sheffield Wednesday, Birmingham City and Wolverhampton Wanderers are all above Leeds in the standings and are aiming to get into the top six.

Leeds do have a small chance of making it into the playoffs, and a couple of signings could come handy.
