Celtic fans rip into performance of Nadir Ciftci v Partick Thistle on Twitter

The summer signing from Dundee United has struggled at Parkhead.

Celtic extended their lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership table yesterday, but only just.

It took a late finish from the returning Leigh Griffiths to earn them a win against Partick Thistle yesterday. With Aberdeen's tie with St Johnstone today postponed The Bhoys have some breathing space.

It was a tough game, made tougher when Nir Bitton was shown a second yellow card and sent for an early bath.

It also didn't help that for the first half their striker was anonymous.

Celtic might as well have filed a missing persons report for Turkish forward Nadir Ciftci. At half-time they did find him, and told him to sit down.

In came the club hero Griffiths to save the day.

Ciftci was always going to need to perform at a very high level to impress Celtic fans. He was already an unpopular figure at the club from his time at Dundee United.

He has done little to change perception.

Ciftci has scored just four goals in 22 games this season and has not had the impact Ronny Deila would have envisaged.

Here is how Celtic fans reacted to his performance...
