Stuart Pearce makes a prediction about West Ham

West Ham United won 2-0 against Liverpool in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Stuart Pearce said on BBC Radio 5 live on Saturday afternoon that West Ham United can finish in a European place in the Premier League table this season.

The former West Ham defender made his prediction following the London outfit’s 2-0 victory over Liverpool at the Boleyn Ground.

“The big lift for West Ham is having Andy Carroll and Dimitri Payet back fit,” said Pearce. "They look like they have gone through a poor run, but now find themselves fifth in the league. They have every opportunity to break into one of those European places.”

The win against Liverpool had lifted West Ham up to fifth in the Premier League table. It was also the Hammers’ second successive victory in the league, and it seems that Slaven Bilic’s side are back in form.

A top-five finish is very much possible, although the London outfit will need to be consistent between now and the end of the season.

The return to full fitness of star player Dimitri Payet is certainly going to play a massive role in how successful West Ham’s 2015-16 campaign is.

The France international attacking midfielder is the Hammers’ best player, and fans will hope that he shows the kind of form he was in before injury struck.
