Leeds United had an uninspiring draw against MK Dons this weekend.
It could have been even worse for the Whites as they trailed from the 30th minute until the closing stages, but Rob Hall’s opener was ultimately cancelled out when Antony Kay put through his own net late on.
Leeds had been in impressive form going into the match but they managed just three goal attempts – and none on target – in front of their own fans and it was somewhat embarrassing that they had to rely on a mistake to earn a share of the spoils.
Evans will take it of course, and every goal counts no matter how it is scored, but after the match he was quick to express his displeasure at the result, suggesting that it takes a certain type of player to excel at a club like Leeds.
Speaking to leedsunited.com, Evans said, “It does take a certain type of player to play here. You need to apply yourselves mentally to whoever you play and this club has played some giants of world football.
“This is why we need players. We are inconsistent in certain areas of the pitch.”
With the January transfer window now open Evans has a chance to strengthen his Leeds squad, but the question is whether the right players – with the right mentality – will be available midway through the current campaign.
