Slaven Bilic comments on Manuel Lanzini's injury, raves about Michail Antonio

West Ham United beat Liverpool 2-0 at Upton Park this afternoon.

West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic has told the club's official Twitter account that he hopes Manuel Lanzini will only be out for a short time.

The Hammers recorded a second win in a row today, beating Liverpool 2-0 at Upton Park with an impressive display earlier this afternoon.

Winger Michail Antonio made it two goals in two games by converting Enner Valencia's cross, scoring the first Premier League goal of 2016.

Ex-Liverpool striker Andy Carroll then came back to haunt his former club, converting Mark Noble's ball in to seal a 2-0 victory.

The star of the show again was winger Michail Antonio, who has really burst into life after a slow start to his Premier League career, following his deadline day move from Nottingham Forest.

After the game, manager Bilic told the club's official Twitter account that he loves how Antonio has been playing, offering non-stop energy down the flanks as well as superb quality on the ball.

Whilst Antonio's display was a major boost for West Ham, they did also receive a huge blow with another injury to playmaker Manuel Lanzini.

The Argentine loan star, 22, had missed almost a month with a thigh injury, but having returned as a second half substitute against Southampton on Monday, Lanzini started against Liverpool.

Unfortunately, he was substituted in the first half - and Bilic is hoping that he won't be out for too long, but did celebrate the return from injury of Dimitri Payet.
