The Gunners face last season's winners in the last 16 of the competition.
The Gunners drew last year’s champions in the last 16 after managing to squeeze through in second place behind Bayern Munich in the group stages.
They are not expected to overcome Luis Enrique’s side, with the La Liga giants once again in fine form this season, courtesy of their formidable forward three of Luis Suarez, Neymar and Lionel Messi.
While a failure to progress in the Champions League would be disappointing again for Arsene Wenger’s side, Hoddle says that it could do wonders for their attempts to win the title this season.
“The thing that will help Arsenal this year is Barcelona, drawing them,” he told Fletch and Sav.
“If they get knocked out, as everyone expects them to get knocked out, although they’ve got a chance, they beat Bayern Munich. But I think if they don’t go through it’ll help.”
The lack of European football to focus on could be a good point about Arsenal’s title hopes, as it is something that has helped teams in the past.
No more so than Liverpool in the 2013/14 campaign, with them able to focus on the league and push Manchester City all the way in the title race that year before eventually finishing second.
Something that was noticeable that season was their ability to keep key players fit, something Arsenal could do with considering how many key players they have lost for large periods already this season.
