Ogbonna, Antonio, Valencia and more: West Ham players react to victory over Liverpool

West Ham Upton Park

West Ham United defeated Liverpool in impressive style this weekend.

West Ham United started 2016 in the best possible way as they overcame Liverpool 2-0 at Upton Park, making it a league double over the Reds.

The Hammers had struggled for goals in recent weeks with many of their creative players side-lined through injury, but Slaven Bilic’s side had 18 goal attempts on Saturday – 10 of which were on target – and Michail Antonio and Andy Carroll found the net to seal a comfortable victory.

Antonio had to wait patiently for his chance to impress after signing from Nottingham Forest in the summer, but he has seized his chance in recent weeks and was the standout performer against Liverpool.

The result means West Ham are currently sixth in the Premier League, just one point outside the European places with plenty of football still to be played.

After the match against Liverpool some of West Ham’s stars had their say on social media, including Antonio, Pedro Obiang, Angelo Ogbonna and Enner Valencia.
