Incoming Liverpool signing Marko Grujic could join up with the club straight away, report Tuttomercatoweb.
Grujic, 19, had been expected to sign from Red Star Belgrade and then be loaned back to the Serbian side, The Guardian reported in December.
The Star reported that Grujic's transfer is likely to be confirmed by the club on Monday after he was granted a work permit.
Tuttomercatoweb's report claims discussions are ongoing between all parties, and a decision will be reached within the coming days regarding where Grujic will spend the rest of this season, with joining Liverpool's squad immediately one of the options remaining on the table.
With Liverpool remaining in the Europa League, and having FA Cup games with which to rotate their squad, there is a chance Grujic will get game time for the Reds even if manager Jurgen Klopp is unwilling to play him in the Premier League.
The Serbian may benefit from going back to Red Star and then arriving in pre-season, but if he can get a headstart now, Liverpool need fresh faces to energise their squad, Grujic could just the solution they need.
