Leigh Griffiths reacts to Celtic win against Partick Thistle, names three big-game players

Celtic defeated Partick Thistle in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday afternoon.

Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths has been quoted as saying by the club’s official Twitter page that he did not give up against Partick Thistle.

The Bhoys returned to winning ways in the Scottish Premiership with a 1-0 victory over Thistle at Celtic Park. Griffiths’s goal late on proved to be the difference between the two sides in Glasgow.

The 25-year-old Scotland international striker has expressed his delight at the final result, claiming that he was continually urging his teammates to remain positive.

The former Wolverhampton Wanderers man has also named three big-game players at Celtic: Kris Commons, Nadir Ciftci and himself.

"All credit to them, they came here, had a game plan and played well,” said Griffiths. "But I kept saying to the boys, keep going, we’re going to get one more chance."

Over the course of the 90 minutes at Celtic Park, hosts Celtic had 57% of the possession, took 12 shots of which six were on target, and earned four corners.

Ronny Deila’s side are at the top of the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with 46 points from 20 matches. The Hoops are three points clear of second-placed Aberdeen, but they have a game in hand.
