Everton stopper Tim Howard has been dining out on one performance since July 2014

The American's time is up at Goodison Park.

In recent times it seems that fans and pundits have clocked on and realised that Tim Howard is currently the weak link in the Everton first-team.

The erratic and indecisive style of play from the American goalkeeper has been frustrating many an Everton fan for 12 months or so now and the need for new blood between the sticks is ever present.

The fact with Howard is, he is not that good.

He is not a bad keeper but not the world-class stopper he has been depicted as in the past.

He has Romelu Lukaku to partly thank. He was one of the Belgian players who kept hitting the ball straight at him in that FIFA World Cup game between the USA and Belgium back in July 2014.

He made 15 saves in the game, a record breaking and superb performance, but the American has been dining out on that game ever since.

Everton need to mix things up in the goalkeeper position but bringing in Joel Robles is not the answer.

The Toffees need to bring in some new blood in the goalkeeping department. Robles is dodgy to say the least and Howard is on a downward trend.

The time has come for Everton to bite the bullet.
