Report: Newcastle and West Brom interested in Diego Rolan

Newcastle United and West Bromwich Albion are reportedly interested in Diego Rolan of Bordeaux.

Newcastle and West Bromwich Albion are interested in signing Bordeaux striker Diego Rolan in the January transfer window, according to The Mirror.

According to the British newspaper, West Brom want Rolan as a potential replacement for striker Saido Berahino.

Who is Diego Rolan?

Rolan has been on the books of Bordeaux since 2013 when he joined them from Defensor Sporting.

The Uruguay international is a talented young talented and is only 22 years of age. The youngster has played 15 games for the Uruguay national team, scoring four goals in the process.

Rolan has scored two goals and created seven chances in 14 Ligue 1 appearances for Bordeaux so far this season.

The youngster has a pass accuracy of 81% and a shot accuracy of 50%, and has won nine headers, 13 dribbles and 11 tackles.

Bordeaux are 14th in Ligue 1 table at the moment with 23 points from 19 matches. Meanwhile, Newcastle are currently third from bottom in the Premier League table and West Brom are 13th in the standings.
