Michael Owen predicts Arsenal will beat Newcastle United
Former Newcastle United striker Michael Owen predicts the Toon will lose away to Arsenal this weekend.
Writing in his weekly predictions column for BetVictor, the BT Sport pundit explained that he cannot possibly see Arsenal dropping points.
He said: "The Gunners have won eight successive PL games against the Magpies and it is hard to see past another home win for the league leaders who have dropped just two points out of their last 21 at the Emirates."
He went onto advise that punters back a bet which would see them win if Arsenal are winning at both half-time and full-time.
Arsenal are currently top of the Premier League table, and will want to begin 2016 with a win which sets them up nicely for the remainder of the campaign.
Newcastle United meanwhile are at the wrong end of the table, presently in the relegation zone in 18th place, two points from safety.
In their favour perhaps is that despite this, they will head into the game with some belief that they can pull off a shock result, just as they did against Tottenham on their last trip to North London, ending their unbeaten record at home this season.
Steve McClaren's side also beat Liverpool in December, and drew with Manchester United and Chelsea, showing they tend to raise their game against the bigger teams. Arsenal can't afford to take them lightly by any means.
