My 2015! One of the most difficult years so far, but so thankful for the people who have been there for me pic.twitter.com/jP8yey4Ft7— Fraser Forster (@FraserForster) December 31, 2015
Southampton shot stopper Fraser Forster took to Twitter on New Year's Eve to post an emotional message to his followers.
Indeed, social media users posted en masse to reflect on their 2015s - as is tradition - but Forster's had more sadness than many others in the footballing world.
The 27-year-old showed some immense form over the course of the calendar year but a serious injury then put him out of action for a lengthy period. He is still recovering.
Forster, however, received plenty of support in response on Twitter - and not just from Southampton fans. Yes, supporters of the goalkeeper's former club Celtic still hold the stopper in very high esteem and were keen to offer their best wishes for 2016 on social media.
Forster is certainly a popular man! It seems the Celtic faithful won't be forgetting the 27-year-old any time soon and why should they considering what the 'keeper achieved at Parkhead?
Here's how both Celtic and Southampton fans responded on Twitter after Forster's emotional social media post ahead of the New Year. Can the Saints kick on in 2016?
