Liverpool fans react to Christian Benteke's performance against Sunderland on Twitter

Christian Benteke Belgium

Christian Benteke may have scored in back-to-back games to give Liverpool a win, but there is still an element of scepticism surrounding the striker.

Christian Benteke may have scored two in two, winning both of Liverpool's final games of 2015, but there still seem to be some reservations about the Belgian among the fans - that's if the reaction on Twitter is anything to go by.

Signed for £32.5 million in the summer by Brendan Rodgers, the Belgian was supposed to be the man to supply the goals and fill that bit of the void left by Daniel Sturridge whenever he is in the treatment room.

Going off the last two games, and the fact he is the top scorer for the Reds in all competitions with seven goals so far this season, on the face of it would seem the 24-year-old is starting to find some kind of form having been in and out of the side - whether that's down to form, a game plan, or injury.

But it is no secret that he can struggle to get into games and often become isolated, and despite his two match winners in the past week, there is still two big opportunities to double his tally in both games that have passed him by against both Leicester City and Sunderland.

Against Sunderland, it was a familiar story for Benteke. He struggled in the first half, took the opportunity presented to him at the start of the second half, got into the game a bit more but should've scored again.

He has been told to put himself about more by manager Jurgen Klopp, and he thinks there is more to come.

Some fans remain unconvinced but there are others that seem content with him simply winning football matches for the club. Here is a sample of what has been said on Twitter in reaction to his performance against the Black Cats
