The Argentine was also linked with Watford this month.
A fortnight ago it looked as though Watford were getting their hands on talented Argentine Juan Manuel Iturbe.
The player himself then went on to post a goodbye message to Roma on Instagram and it looked like Watford had secured themselves another excellent recruit from Italian football.
Tutto Mercato Web reported earlier in the month that Watford had been in touch with Roma about signing the Argentine talent - who was one of Europe's most wanted starlets last summer. The Giallorossi were open to loaning the player to Watford in January with a buy-out option.
But then came the twist, involving Bournemouth.
Iturbe failed to agree a deal with Watford and The Cherries dived in in what the Daily Mail said would be an initial loan deal, with a £16.2 million fee being agreed if the move proves a success.
It is an astute move from Bournemouth and one that definitely seems to have come off.
The Sun, as reported by Sky Sports, suggests that Iturbe will train with the Bournemouth first-team today ahead of the deal being officially announced on Saturday.
Iturbe therefore could be in the running to face Leicester City the same afternoon.
The Argentine Under-20 talent should be an excellent signing for The Cherries and hopefully the deal will come off without a hitch.
