Jordan Botaka's cheeky message to Leeds United fan after squad omission

Winger Jordan Botaka is upbeat despite his recent absences from the Leeds United squad.

Tricky winger Jordan Botaka is yet to make an impact at Leeds United since signing on transfer deadline day, but is determined to bide his time and wait for his chance.

The DR Congo international has made only two starts since signing, and seven substitute appearances, without scoring or creating a goal.

He was not on the bench for either of the last two matches, despite the need to rotate the side, with head coach Steve Evans very much feeling that others are ahead of him in the pecking order.

Not seeing the talented attacker even make the bench is difficult for those who particularly believe in his ability, and Botaka replied to one supporter who expressed his frustration at not seeing him in action, to say that he is still alive - meaning he may not be seen, but he is working hard behind the scenes to get up to speed.

Even in the Premier League, players struggle to adapt when signing from abroad, especially if they have not had the luxury of joining ahead of pre-season and getting used to the squad.

The good news for the Whites is that Botaka signed in the first half of the season and the last few months can be written off as a learning curve. 2016 has the potential to be a big year for the winger, if he can grasp the opportunities when he gets them.
