Report: Stoke City chasing star pair Cheikh Ndoye and Romain Thomas at high-flying French side Angers

The Potters are keen on two of Ligue 1's surprise stars.

Stoke City have been extremely impressive this season with Mark Hughes changing the philosophy and perception of the team.

Now the Potters are known for their devastating front four of Marko Arnautovic, Xherdan Shaqiri, Bojan Krkic and Ibrahim Afellay.

But it would appear that they are now hoping to add some defensive steel to the team.

The Daily Mail is reporting today that Stoke are hopeful of bringing in two players from Ligue 1's surprise outfit Angers this summer.

The report claims that Stoke are keeping tabs on both Cheikh Ndoye and Romain Thomas.

Ndoye is a battling midfielder with caps for Senegal. He joined Angers from Creteil in the summer and has been integral to their rise up to third in the French top flight. The promoted side also have Thomas, a centre-back who has been with the club since 2013 after a stint in non-league French football.

Both would come reasonably cheap and their wages what not be an issue either and the two players might be real gems if Stoke City do indeed make a move for the player.
