Norwich City are keen on signing Chelsea’s Patrick Bamford on loan in January, according to a report in the Daily Mail.
Bamford had been expected to spend this season at Crystal Palace, but the young forward has decided to end his time at Selhurst Park sooner than predicted.
Bamford struggled to make much of an impression with the Eagles, but he still has a belief that he is capable of playing in the Premier League.
The 22-year-old is keen to stay in England’s top tier, and Norwich are eager to do a deal for the front man. They do face competition from Aston Villa and Middlesbrough, though - as the Mail suggest they are also interested.
The Canaries are eager to increase their attacking options, as none of their current strikers have been particularly prolific this season.
Although Cameron Jerome, Dieumerci Mbokani and Lewis Grabban have chipped in with some goals, none of the trio have hit the back of the net with much frequency.
Norwich realise that finding a goalscorer could be the difference between survival and relegation.
At the moment Alex Neil’s side are sat three points above the drop zone, but they are determined to invest in January - to increase their chances of survival.
