Sassuolo boss does not believe Berardi is in London because of Tottenham, but is not entirely sure.
Sassuolo boss Eusebio di Francesco has confirmed that Domenico Berardi is in London, but does not believe his visit is transfer related.
His agent Simone Seghedoni told Tuttomercatoweb this week that he did not expect Berardi be transferred in January, although could not offer a commitment one way or another regarding the summer.
Di Francesco is quoted by Football Italia, regarding comments made to Sky Italia about the player's trip to England:
"Berardi to Tottenham? The club told me the opposite. He went to London, that’s true, but only on holiday. I talked to the lad, and he said absolutely not.
“So I’m comfortable from that point of view, even though surprises are always around the corner in football and we can always be proved wrong.”
So the striker's trip to England's capital could just be a coincidence, or he could even be checking out the city with a view to a potential summer move, but his Italian side do not seem unduly concerned, and nor should they be, with Juventus having a buy back clause in his contract, which means rival sides need to match the stipulated £18 million fee to snap him up.
