Leicester City held Manchester City to a draw at the King Power Stadium in a hard fought encounter between the two sides.
It was a shock given the attacking strength of the two teams that the game ended a 0-0 draw, but that was testament to both sides being keen not to suffer defeat.
When the fixture list was announced this was not a game which many had viewed would be one between two title contenders, but going into the match that is how it was built up.
The draw keeps Leicester City above Manchester City to close 2015, in second and third respectively.
Leicester have the same amount of points as leaders Arsenal, but are behind them on goal difference, with Manchester City three points further back.
Former Leicester player and now fan, Gary Lineker, reacted on Twitter to praise the Foxes for their display.
Well played Leicester. Bloody good effort.— Gary Lineker (@GaryLineker) December 29, 2015
Arsenal were the main beneficiaries of the draw, with Manuel Pellegrini's side dropping more points, and closing the year at the top of the table.
Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand believes the title is Arsenal to lose, and they must take a hard look at themselves if they fail to close it out.
Leicester City seem disappointed with a point here...if Arsenal dont win the league this yr they need whipping with dry/hot leather sandals!— Rio Ferdinand (@rioferdy5) December 29, 2015
