Claudio Ranieri showed his faith in midfielder Gokhan Inler by handing him a start in a crucial game against Manchester City.
Inler has struggled for game time since his summer move from Napoli, and this was his first Premier League start since September.
He played for 67 minutes in the stalemate with City, before being taken off as Claudio Ranieri tried to win the game by bringing on attacker Leonardo Ulloa.
Up against a midfield of Yaya Toure and Fernandinho, Inler relished the challenge, making four interceptions and four tackles, in each case the highest among the Leicester midfield.
On the ball it was a different matter, completing only 67 per cent of his passes, being dispossessed three times.
Patience should be urged with Inler, a player with 89 international caps for Switzerland, who at 31 can still be a valuable contributor for the Foxes, and will surely improve with more game time to adjust to the Premier League.
Here is a look at how fans reacted on Twitter to his performance...
Thought Inler was decent tonight. Hope he stays. #lcfc— Eddie Holt (@RealEddieHolt) December 29, 2015
