Harry Redknapp warns Tottenham Hotspur off signing West Bromwich Albion forward Saido Berahino

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with West Bromwich Albion forward Saido Berahino for a long time.

Harry Redknapp has told TalkSPORT that he doesn’t believe Tottenham Hotspur should sign West Bromwich Albion forward Saido Berahino in the January transfer window.

Spurs are thought to be on the lookout for a front man, as they seek cover for Harry Kane.

According to the Daily Mail, Berahino is at the top of Mauricio Pochettino’s wishlist, but Redknapp has warned Spurs again signing the 22-year-old.

“They’re talking about the boy at West Brom, but I’m not sure about him,” Redknapp said.

“They don’t need that [his attitude]. They have a great team spirit a Tottenham, and they’re all pulling for each other. I don’t think you want to disrupt that and take any chances.”

Tottenham had tried to sign Berahino before the season started, but they were unable to force a deal over the line.

The Baggies front man has not hidden his disappointment about not being allowed to move to White Hart Lane since - and Tony Pulis told BBC Sport recently that Berahino was lucky to be playing a part at the Hawthorns.

There have been question marks over his attitude, but his ability was proven last season - when he netted 20 goals in 45 appearances.

This time around, Berahino has only scored three times in 14 outings.

If the Burundi-born forward does move to White Hart Lane, he will be competing with the likes of Kane and Heung-Min Son for a place in the starting line-up.
