The Portuguese international has been excellent in recent weeks.
That has meant trawling the country and Europe for top loan attractions they were able to sign within the strict Football League guidelines set for them.
One such arrival was that of Portuguese international Nelson Oliveira.
He arrived on loan from Benfica in the summer after a spell with Swansea City last term.
He initially struggled to turn impressive performances into goals at Forest but has come good in recent weeks, scoring five goals in his last nine games for the club.
One of those goals came against Leeds United on the 27th December and in the Sky Sports studio watching him that day was former Forest striker Robert Earnshaw.
The Welshman, who scored an impressive 43 goals in 111 appearances for Forest, told the Sky Sports studio before the game (27/12/2015) why Oliveira was starting to come good:
"I think he's just starting to link up well. I think he is finding his feet, he's understanding who he's playing with and they're understanding him as well.
"Because he is a very good striker and if there's one thing he's got it's that goal in the back of his mind.
"I think once they start creating chances, which they've done, he'll start scoring goals."
It certainly appears as though the players around Oliveira now know and appreciate his game a lot better. The maverick forward has pace, touch and guile that make him a nightmare for Championship defenders.
If he can continue to perform like he has been recently then Forest should have no fear of the drop.
