15-year-old Lithuanian talent Matas Gudaitis admits he prefers Aston Villa move to Wolfsburg

Villa Nextgen

The talented Lithuanian is wanted in Italy, Germany and Denmark.

Aston Villa may be sitting at the foot of the Premier League table but the club are not stopping in their pursuit of top talent from across Europe.

Once such player is 15-year-old Lithuanian starlet Matas Gudaitis.

The talented teenager has trained with Aston Villa at Bodymoor Heath this year and also spent time on trial with Atalanta of Italy and Danish side Brondby.

The schoolboy recently finished a similar spell with German outfit VfL Wolfsburg and was speaking to Lithuanian source Delfi about his future yesterday - when he admitted that Aston Villa would be his preferred choice of any of the above teams:

"I personally preferred the British football (over German).

"Fast, a lot of fighting, the teams do not play ever receding of the defense. My time with Aston Villa club really made a huge impression on me.

Of course, that is if Villa do indeed want him.

Gudaitis is currently with Vilnius Ateites and is free to find his first professional club. He has already trained with the senior Lithuanian squad and is clearly a big talent for the future.

Sure he is not going to help Villa stay up at the moment, but he might just go on to become a future star for the club if they take a gamble on the teenager.
