Report: Sunderland's Jeremain Lens a shock target for Roma

Sunderland's Jeremain Lens is a reported target for Roma.

Sunderland attacker Jeremain Lens is wanted by Italian side Roma, report GianlucadiMarzio.com.

It is claimed that Lens is a back up option to Roma's main goal to sign Diego Perotti from Genoa.

Genoa have had a difficult season, 17th in Serie A compared to Roma's 5th, and the winger would surely be tempted if a fee could be reached between the two clubs.

Likewise Sunderland's Lens would also likely jump at the chance to join a side challenging at the right end of the table,

He has been only a bit part player in recent weeks since his summer move to Wearside, and has not started a game since October.

His last appearance came as a substitute in the Boxing Day loss to Manchester City.

He has two goals, two assists, and one red card so far since switching to the Premier League.

Roma director Walter Sabatini is claimed by GianlucadiMarzio.com to have watched the former PSV ace previously, but the Italian side are not going to make a move until their attempts to sign Perotti have been exhausted.
