Leicester City defender Callum Elder has taken to Twitter to confirm that he is in good shape after having surgery on a foot injury.
Feeling good after my operation, thanks for all the messages, can't wait to be back playing pic.twitter.com/WxSJtlBOHS— Callum Elder (@CallumElder_) December 29, 2015
Elder has been on loan at Peterborough United all season, and he was playing a key part for the League One outfit.
The Australian had established his place in Posh’s starting line-up, but he had to be withdrawn early on in Graham Wesley’s side’s 2-0 defeat against Blackpool earlier this month, after damaging his foot.
Elder then returned to Leicester for treatment on his injury, when it was concluded that he would have to have the problem operated on.
There has been no confirmation as to how long Elder is set to be out for, but Posh boss Westley did tell the Peterborough Telegraph that the left-back could be set to miss the next 10 matches.
Elder was set to extend his loan spell at Posh in January, but that deal is now in doubt.
The 20-year-old played 21 times for Peterborough on his loan spell, and became a fans’ favourite at the ABAX Stadium.
