Alex McCarthy sends message to Petr Cech on Twitter

Crystal Palace goalkeeper Alex McCarthy rates Arsenal star Petr Cech highly.

Crystal Palace goalkeeper Alex McCarthy has taken to social networking site Twitter to congratulate Arsenal star Petr Cech on creating a new Premier League record on Monday.

Arsenal’s 2-0 win against Bournemouth at the Emirates Stadium in North London meant that Cech has now kept more clean sheets (170) than any other goalkeeper in Premier League history.

Cech joined Arsenal from Premier League rivals Chelsea in the summer transfer window.

The 33-year-old has already proven to be one of the best signings of the summer and remains one of the most reliable goalkeepers in the English top flight.

The Czech Republic international has kept eight clean sheets in 19 Premier League appearances for Arsenal so far this season. Cech has made 2.26 saves per game and 2.87 saves per goal on average for the Gunners.

Arsenal are at the top of the Premier League table at the moment with 39 points from 19 matches, a point clear of second-placed Leicester City, who have a game in hand.
