The former Villa attacker believes that his old club will be going down.
Aston Villa look to be relegation fodder. Despite two hard fought draws in their last two outings that is not enough at the moment. The club need to be picking up wins right now if they are going to survive this season.
The game with Norwich City today certainly looks like being key to their potential survival chances.
Now one former Aston Villa star believes that today will be the day that Villa are essentially relegated.
He wrote in his Sky Sports column yesterday:
"Norwich is not an easy place to go! Aston Villa could have been as good as down with defeat at home to West Ham on Saturday, but at least they managed to save a draw. If they had lost to the Hammers and then to Norwich that would surely have been it, but they're still alive.
"Aston Villa saved a point against West Ham
"You are talking about winning 10 games between now and the end of the season and not even Manchester United will do that! I can't see Remi Garde's side getting anything so I'm going for a 2-1 home win."
It is fair to say that Villa are looking like heading down the league tables.
The club under Remi Garde do not seem to be on the right track toward survival and wins are now at a premium.
Norwich are a tough nut to crack and especially at Carrow Road. Villa are unlikely to pick up the points they need today and going into the New Year it seems as though they are on their way out.
