The agent of Sassuolo striker Domenico Berardi has responded to reports his client is a transfer target for Tottenham Hotspur.
Speaking to Tuttojuve.com, reported by Tuttomercatoweb, Berardi's agent Simone Seghedoni played down the claims, insisting while not shocked to learn of their interest, the striker is remaining focused on his Serie A role.
He said: "First of all with regard to Tottenham, there are lots of teams in this season who come to follow Domenico, it does not surprise me at all.
"Objectively, in terms of concrete offers of Tottenham, I know nothing."
He went onto insist he did not forecast a mid-season transfer, adding: "Domenico needs to grow, what will happen to June I find it hard to predict, in January he will remain in Sassuolo."
This season he has scored just two goals, less than the four he scored in one game against AC Milan a couple of seasons ago, a game which announced his arrival on the big stage.
The Juventus complication
Any deal to try and sign Berardi is complicated by Juventus possessing a buy back option to sign the striker.
If Tottenham want him then they will need to offer more than the £18.4 million clause they have, and this may be over the odds for what the 21-year-old is worth based upon his goal return this season.
