West Ham tweet Cuco Martina with cheeky response after wondergoal v Arsenal

The Hammers prefer one of their own after the Southampton right-back's superb strike against the Gunners.

West Ham United delivered a cheeky response on Twitter after Cuco Martina's wonder strike for Southampton against Arsenal on Saturday afternoon.

Indeed, the Saints right-back netted with a brilliant low shot from range - one hit with the outside of his boot to give his side the lead against the Gunners.

As the Premier League clash progressed, one goal became four. Arsenal were left embarrassed, Martina and co delighted.

But that didn't stop West Ham from getting in on the action on social media, using Martina's goal as an excuse to tweet a great strike from Trevor Sinclair - one the Hammers' official Twitter account suggested was better than the Southampton man's!

When it comes to comparing goals, Martina's strike looks set to be one of the top contenders for goal of the month this December. It would be a fitting effort to finish 2015 on.

It might not have been the best goal one will ever see but the Southampton defender delivered one to remember and, technically speaking, his shot was one right out of the top drawer. Arsenal fans will want to forget it quickly, while the Saints faithful will likely remember it for some time to come.

But West Ham fans: was Sinclair's strike better?
