West Ham United drew 1-1 at Aston Villa on Saturday afternoon.
West Ham United were pegged back at Aston Villa on Saturday afternoon, as the two teams played out a 1-1 draw at Villa Park.
The Hammers went in to the match without a win in seven games, as Slaven Bilic's men struggled to cope with a host of injuries to star players.
However, they took the lead on the stroke of half time, as left back Aaron Cresswell smashed a superb long-range strike in to the corner of Brad Guzan's net.
Bilic will have been hoping that West Ham's fortunes would change, but defender Angelo Ogbonna gave away a second half penalty for a clumsy challenge on striker Rudy Gestede.
Jordan Ayew converted from the spot to give Villa a share of the spoils in a 1-1 draw, meaning West Ham have drawn each of their last five games.
After the game, a host of Hammers players took to Twitter in order to give their views on the draw, with defender Angelo Ogbonna already looking ahead to facing Southampton on Monday.
Meanwhile, defender James Tomkins showed off his battle wound from the game at Villa Park, and goalscorer Cresswell celebrated his strike - but was disappointed that the Hammers couldn't clinch that elusive victory over bottom club Aston Villa.
