Two photos that sum up Sam Allardyce’s frustration

Sunderland Gates

Sunderland went down 4-1 to Manchester City in the Premier League on Boxing Day.

Sunderland’s poor run of results continued on Boxing Day, as they were hammered 4-1 by Manchester City away from home at the Etihad Stadium.

It was the Black Cats’ fourth successive defeat in the Premier League and enhanced their chances of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.

Raheem Sterling, Yaya Toure, Wilfried Bony and Kevin De Bruyne were on target for City, while Fabio Borini found the net for the visitors just before the hour mark.

Sunderland manager Sam Allardyce was understandably frustrated with the way his side crumbled against the Citizens, as the photos above and below show.

The Black Cats are second from bottom in the Premier League table at the moment with 12 points from 18 matches, five points behind 17th-placed Norwich City.

Allardyce’s team will return to action on Wednesday evening when they take on Liverpool at the Stadium of Light.

Sunderland will start the New Year with a home game against fellow relegation candidates Aston Villa on January 2.
