Supporters across north London couldn't resist after Southampton's thrashing of the Gunners on Saturday afternoon.

It's possible that Tottenham Hotspur fans enjoyed Arsenal's 4-0 loss on Boxing Day more than Gunners fans hated it.

The same old flaws affected Arsene Wenger's men: a poor mentality, failing when it matters most and a lack of squad depth that was once again exposed.

Alan Sugar couldn't resist the opportunity to mock Arsenal on Twitter as a result, despite once again insisting Wenger is the best manager in the Premier League.

And Tottenham supporters themselves were full of festive cheer on social media, too. Who wouldn't celebrate such a wondrous gift from their greatest rivals?

Spurs are now just four points behind Arsenal and, during this crazy Premier League season, anything is possible. History suggests the Gunners will once again finish above their north London foes - but this is a more solid Tottenham team than in the past.

And, as badly as Arsenal have faltered before, there have been few falls from grace as spectacular as their 4-0 thumping at Southampton. After beating Norwich City 3-0 on the same day, Tottenham supporters felt they had a right to brag; many did on Twitter...
